If you are looking for that "typically Greek", original and unspoilt getaway that your friends have never heard of Finikounda is for you. It has a fantastic sandy beach which is uncrowded, even in high summer, its popularity extends to the Greeks themselves. It has a small harbour and a dozen or so taverna's (try a different one each day) offering freshly caught fish and traditional Greek dishes. Finikounda also has a few tourist shops and some friendly bars and, for those with a sweet tooth, it also boasts a sticky cake shop.
